This was another fun, full, family session. Fall colors are coming in late and sparse this year, but the weather is beautiful! I love getting to capture families and kiddos! This time, I had the pleasure of taking some family portraits in Lawson, MO at Watkins Mill State Park.

Watkins Mill has a lot of trails, paved paths, colorful trees, and historical sites. There is also a nice little bridge going over the stream. October 2024 has been warm and breezy so far, which has been great for outdoor photography sessions. We chose an area that was down in a valley, under the trees, near the bridge, due to so much open sun that day.

This family wanted family portraits done of them, their adult children, and their families. Lots of grand kids, leaves on the ground, and fun to be had! Each family and kiddo had their own personality and style. There was a terrific age range, too, from grandparents to tiny little babies! It was a great session. Below are just some of the highlights.

One of my favorite parts of photographing families is the photo selection and editing process. I take the time to look through every single photo from the session. I find myself smiling at all the facial expressions and emotions. I then edit them with my style to bring out a desired reaction by the client. I try to preserve the moment and the emotion with each photo of the session. I always love seeing the joy and happiness from the genuine smiles and laughter!
